Ataque Frontal:

In the 1980's, violence was more accentuated in Peru; Lima became a very dangerous place due to the actions of the extremists, police and state repression. Corrupt governments led to the collapse of the country's economy.

In this scenario, young people from different places of the city appeared with projects or bands, with a dirty and raw sound, with a narrative content, they have something to said; this movement was called Rock Subterráneo. Lyrics against the establishment release all the uncertainty that plagued young people back then: do it yourself (DIY) and be independent.

The first bands to appear in this new scene are Leusemia, Narcosis, Zcuela Crrada, Guerrilla Urbana and Autopsia. In Autopsia, Silvio sang (or it could be said, shout), this group was born from the dissolution of Narcosis.

José Eduardo Matute invites Silvio, who at that time is called “Espátula” to Guerrilla Urbana, which included two members of Leusemia, shortly after the entry of Raúl Montañez - Montaña (La Máquina del Rock, Leusemia, Zcuela Cerrada) and Fernando Boggio, change their name to Ataque Frontal.

The recording material was done live; began in the morning and ended before nightfall, it was carried out in the studio of Miki Gonzáles and the sound engineer was Wicho García -Narcosis vocalist- and we had the instruments that colleagues lent us from other bands, it was 1986. The album cover and design was created by artist Jaime Higa and the photo on the back cover was made by the poet Dalmacia Ruiz Rosas Samohod.

José E. Matute worked a lot connecting with international labels, sending this recording in letters and that is why this band was released on several demo tapes in Peru, Germany, France, Norway, Greece, etc., between 1986 to 1989. Finally, all the tracks of this recording were released in 7 "by New Wave Records - France, 1988, except track 7 which was released in early 1987, on the compilation" 1984 The Third "2xLP, also by NWR.

Montaña remembers: Matute told me, at the end of the recording, "This material will make people talk about it, and will make it around the world, you will see" ... and he's not mistaken, it was 1986.

We released this digital version of the album, with the sound taken from an original unit of the French EP never played before, preserving its original sound warmth without being modified. In memory of José Eduardo Matute, 35 years after being registered.
